Modicon M221 – affordable and compact PLC now in one kit

Schneider Electric is now introducing a comprehensive upgrade of the MachineStruxure concept with three new powerful PLCs (logical controllers) in the Modicon family and an upgraded version of the SoMachine software. The new PLCs fit both simple applications and large machines

MachineStruxure is a comprehensive solution designed to increase engineer competitiveness. The new PLCs and upgraded software, SoMachine, are even more flexible and easier. Constructors can now build advanced machines faster and easier, and manufacturers can deliver machines to their customers faster. The three PLCs, Modicon M221, M241 and M251, are designed specifically for machine builders and cover the requirements and needs of automation and OEM

Fast and flexible with remote control PLCs provide short cycle times and handle large communication tasks. They are easy to configure and can be controlled from a tablet, smartphone or PC. The number of inputs and outputs for sensors and sensors can be easily expanded with TM3 and TM4. You are programming the PLCs in an updated version of the SoMachine software. The language is based on the standard IEC 61131-3 and applications can be moved freely between the various Modicon models.

Modicon M221 – affordable and compact PLC now in “starter kit”

Modicon M221 is suitable for smaller machines. The PLC is one of the fastest in its class and comes in a standard model and in an ultra compact model in book format. The standard version comes with an integrated Ethernet interface for communication as well as fast I / O ports for connection of servomotors. The standard model has 24 I / O terminals while the compact model has 16. Both versions can be expanded and are ten times faster than traditional PLCs. With the new TM3 expansion module, you can install up to 14 I / O modules, such as security modules and contactor control. M221 is used in conjunction with the free downloadable software SoMachineBasic.
